"My Sweet Burden" is a deeply personal exhibition that delves into Ping Hatta’s journey as a (part-time) bird rescuer. Inspired by her fascination with the local bird friends in her garden and her years of rescuing, fostering, and releasing these delicate creatures, this collection is a celebration of the joy and beauty found in everyday life. Each rescue etched into her memory with a mix of joy, pain, and hope. This collection is a tribute to bird lovers, fellow rescuers, and, of course, the birds that have touched her life. Through these paintings, Ping hopes to share the profound emotions and stories of resilience, healing, and the unspoken bond that forms between a rescuer and their feathered companions.
